3.) AWARENESS: What if you could rock a new shirt, key chain, headband, or sweatshirt with a meaningful message? Our More than Merchandise offers everyone the ability to join the movement in a fun and fashionable way. In addition, we have taken the lead in creative campaigns to raise awareness. A few were the Survivor Ink tattoo campaign, Real Men/Women Don’t Abuse campaign, Blow the Whistle against Domestic Violence Challenge, and 100 Reasons Why I Stayed with My Abuser campaign.
4.) HEALING: Anytime you face trauma you must move towards actively pursuing some form of therapeutic measure to heal yourself. We are so passionate about this part of the journey which is why we offer our annual 3-day/ 2-night Women’s Revitalization Retreat. We have personally watched women enter the retreat broken and leave with the tools and friendships they needed to break free from the chains of pain and move towards peace. It is absolutely inspiring!
5.) PREVENTION: Have you ever told someone not to do something to prevent them from getting hurt? Here at Break the Silence against Domestic Violence we are consistently utilizing every avenue we can to prevent people from getting into unhealthy relationships because we know the damage it does and the danger that comes with it. Social media is our greatest asset and we use it to reach over 52,000 followers daily. We also have professional Speakers who are available to travel the country to spread the prevention message.
Perhaps you would like to give but you haven’t decided how. There are many ways to do so and we appreciate them all because the B.T.S family depends on the spirit of charity to keep us thriving towards our mission.
